Jim Wylie - Scottish Painter

This is a link to my stepdad Jim Wylie's paintings
He works and lives in Scotland, working full-time on his painting for the first time in many years. I'm really enjoying watching his work develop now that he has more time to focus on it, and love being able to access these images from as far away as New Zealand.
See what you think.

I like'm! Such warm colours for a place I imagine is colder and wetter than Dunny!

Compositions inspired by a photographers eye for sure, and subjects and colours of energized romance.

I wish I could look at and smell the real things. I used to paint medium to large scale landscapes, and was inspired by photographics as well.

I'd shoot landscapes with super8 movie, turn them into video, photograph paused frames in the video, manipulate the images with a digital editor, print out to slide transparencies, project onto the canvas and paint it in. The painting part was never as staright forward as I always hoped, but the whole process was enjoyable with many outputs along the way.
